I’m currently sitting on my front porch in a rocking chair entangled by overgrown canes of English climbing roses that I don’t prune very well. They’re blooming like crazy. It’s a little chaotic and a lot bewitching and in this golden hour light I can’t help but to think that simply enjoying nature’s creativity is the most creative thing I can do in this moment.

But spring is like that, isn’t it? You can feel good by merely going outside and just being in the sun and birdsong (unlike winter when my most productive days still feel pointless in the endless gray doldrums).

Expansion
By being in spring, we’re more fully alive. By enjoying creation, we’re more creative inside. By soaking in its beauty, we become more beautiful.
Spring expands us on a soul-level. In the same way we expand how we define ourselves in spring, so too does the definition of creativity expand.

Building, baking, gardening, growing, nurturing, feeding, designing, dancing, dressing- all are marvelous expressions of a creative lifestyle. For me, spring spurs on the creation of food and flowers in my garden. (As evidenced by the yard photos in this post!) For you, spring might inspire something completely different!
